D2.505 - Sustainable Allergy Management: a Task force report

Background

Allergic diseases in children are rising worldwide, challenging healthcare systems.Innovative strategies are needed to improve diagnosis, management, and sustainability. Digitalhealth tools—including mobile health, telemedicine, and AI—enable earlier diagnosis,personalized treatment, and real-time monitoring.

Method

This position paper presents a global framework integrating digital innovation withsustainable allergy and immunology care. Three priorities guide the roadmap: (1) using digitalsolutions to enhance clinical outcomes and patient engagement; (2) embedding environmentallysustainable practices in daily operations to lower healthcare-related carbon emissions; and (3)promoting international collaboration to ensure equitable access across healthcare settings.

Results

Based on expert consensus and current evidence, the framework offers practicalguidance for clinics and hospitals to implement digital health solutions while advancingsustainable allergy care.

Conclusion

Aligning digital transformation with ESG goals, the initiative supports high-quality,equitable, and climate-responsible care. It provides an international perspective on opportunities,challenges, and strategies for integrating digital health into pediatric and general allergy care,guiding future sustainable and patient-centered transformations worldwide.
